Using Your Roadside Assistance Services

We make it easy to get help when you need it. There are two ways by which you may obtain service under your roadside assistance coverage:

Wawanesa Roadside Services

When using this option, simply request help online, or call 855-WAWA-TOW (929-2869) to initiate a service request. Once coverage is verified:

A service provider will be dispatched to your location
The provider will perform the necessary service
Wawanesa will pay the service provider
(up to the limit specified in your auto insurance policy)

No out-of-pocket expense will be incurred by you unless the cost of service exceeds the benefit limit, or the service is not covered by your auto insurance policy.

Using Outside Services

You can choose any licensed service provider for roadside assistance. However, you’ll need to pay for the service upfront. Wawanesa will then reimburse you, up to the limit specified in your auto insurance policy, provided the service is covered.

To receive reimbursement, you must submit written, verifiable proof of the expense within 30 days of the service date. When sending us your proof of expense, please include your insurance policy number.

In most cases, Wawanesa’s roadside assistance coverage will provide for a tow of at least 10 miles. However, coverage varies by state and by the type of vehicle requiring a tow. When requesting service, once coverage is confirmed and you have provided the tow destination of your choice, you will be advised of any costs for the service not covered by your policy. You can also refer to your auto insurance policy for specific details on your roadside assistance coverage limits.

Can roadside assistance help with a flat tire?

Yes, one of the most common services provided through roadside assistance coverage is changing of a flat tire. The technician can either change your tire, if safe to do so or tow your vehicle if necessary. Refer to your insurance declaration page for specific coverage details.

Disclaimers

If roadside assistance coverage is shown in the declarations page of your auto insurance policy, we will pay or reimburse reasonable expenses you incur for necessary covered emergency services for a covered disabled vehicle, up to the limit of liability specified in your policy.

For each covered disabled vehicle in each policy period, there is a benefit limit of one (1) reimbursement per disablement and a total of two (2) disablement incidents.

Roadside assistance is not available for trailers, motor homes or other recreational type vehicles (including RVs, tour buses, and travel trailers).
