This summer, Krisi Blanco received a call from a woman in her 70s who had been a client for 29 years. The woman was calling to inquire about a claim for her broken air conditioner.
A repairman had been to her home, but couldn’t give an estimate on how long the parts and repair would take. Since Manitoba was having unseasonably hot weather—well above 30°C—Blanco was concerned.
After conferring with her team, Blanco bought a large upright fan, drove to the client’s home and set it up for her. Later, the client stopped by with a thank you card for the team, as she was so grateful to have a fan to get her through the heat wave while awaiting repairs.
As one of Wawanesa’s “Going the Extra Mile” recipients, Columbia Insurance is directing its $10,000 donation to the Firefighters Burn Fund.
