Fraud prevention tool launched for Ontario

Wawanesa has officially launched CANATICS, an analytical fraud prevention tool used to identify and investigate suspicious automobile claims throughout Ontario. CANATICS sends alerts based on pooled industry data. Their member insurance companies currently represent by 75% of Ontario’s auto insurance market, allowing for an industry-wide view that insurers would otherwise not achieve on their own.
Organized insurance fraud causes premiums to rise and can endanger the safety of others. Wawanesa’s use of CANATICS will help curb fraudulent insurance claims and allow us to protect our policyholders even further.
