How we’re increasing our commitment to sustainability:

  • Offering coverages to help homeowners adapt to the changing climate.
  • Advocating for building codes that make homes more resilient.
  • Committing $2 million annually to Wawanesa Climate Champions, supporting people on the front lines of climate change across Canada.
  • Joining other insurers in the United Nations Principles of Sustainable Insurance (PSI).
  • Fostering a workplace environment of inclusion and belonging through Wawanesa Employee Groups.
  • Increasing waste diversion, energy efficiency, and reducing our paper usage within our facilities, including our new national headquarters.
  • Supporting climate adaptation with industry peers, including our partnership with the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction and the ICLR Climate Resilience Centre.
  • Setting reduction targets for greenhouse gas emissions associated with our operations and investments.
