Saxbee Insurance is a full-service brokerage in Abbotsford, serving the Fraser Valley for nearly 40 years. Since 2014, the team at Saxbee has been raising funds to support Dave Lede House (DLH) in Abbotsford, a second location of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
DLH provides pediatric palliative care for children with life-threatening illnesses who are from the Fraser Health region and across British Columbia. In 2018, Canuck Place also increased in-home clinical consultations to support families during times of fragility and at end-of-life, and Saxbee has been doing its part to support this vital work.
From 2014 to 2019, Saxbee held an annual BBQ fundraiser and raffle to raise funds for DLH. In 2019 alone, they raised $3,000. Although the BBQ fundraiser has been on hold since the pandemic, the team at Saxbee attends signature fundraising events, volunteers and applies for grants to help support this charity. Their team knows that Canuck Place depends on community support to continue caring for children and their families as they navigate these uncertain journeys.
As one of Wawanesa’s “Going the Extra Mile” recipients, Saxbee Insurance is directing its $10,000 donation to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
