MHK Insurance has been serving Albertans since 1913, providing personal and commercial insurance coverage. For the past five years, its Edmonton team has worked with Spruce Avenue School, where a high percentage of students come from families that often struggle to provide basic necessities.
The Edmonton team helps to fill any resource gaps identified by teachers and school administrators. For example, they’ve raised money to purchase snacks and fill the in-school pantry, facilitated the donation of laptops to all students and mentored Grade 9 students on how to get their first job. They also sponsor the school’s Spartan Citizenship Awards, which reward students for acts of good citizenship with monthly outings.
MHK has become a welcome face within the Spruce Avenue community, and the Edmonton team is always looking for ways to support young people and set them up for success.
As one of Wawanesa’s “Going the Extra Mile” recipients, MHK Insurance is directing its $10,000 donation to Spruce Avenue School.
